Georgia Bulldogs star linebacker CJ Allen sustained a left leg injury during the second quarter of the game against Texas on Saturday, November 15. The injury appeared to be non-contact, and Allen was seen holding his left leg before limping off the field.
Allen was taken to the medical tent on the sideline and subsequently to the locker room. Although he could walk on his own, he was moving with difficulty and unable to put significant pressure on his left leg.
Reports indicated that Allen's hamstring was the source of his discomfort. Sophomore linebacker Chris Cole replaced Allen in the game.
Allen, a junior, has been a key defensive player for Georgia this season, leading the team in total tackles with 75 and sacks with 3.5. He was also a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, recognizing the nation's top college linebacker.
