Ariana Grande expressed her love for Singapore after a frightening incident on the red carpet during the premiere of her film "Wicked: For Good." A 26-year-old man named Johnson Wen disrupted the event by running towards Grande and grabbing her. Co-star Cynthia Erivo stepped in to shield Grande, and security intervened to remove the man.
Following the incident, Wen was charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court. He appeared in court via video link and is expected to plead guilty. Wen is known for crashing celebrity events, having previously accosted other public figures.
Despite the unsettling experience, Grande shared a message of appreciation for Singapore on social media, posting photos from the film's press tour. She captioned the post, "thank you, Singapore ♡ we love you 🫧". This message came after Grande had previously spoken about her struggles with PTSD following the Manchester Arena bombing.
