Steven Pavlik, a 63-year-old Salvation Army bell ringer in Stuart, Florida, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest. The incident occurred when the manager of a local Publix confronted Pavlik, who was allegedly drunk and aggressively harassing passersby while on bell-ringing duty, causing a significant disturbance.
According to the sheriff's office, when the manager approached Pavlik, he became violent and attempted to assault the manager with his donation kettle tripod. The manager was not injured in the alleged attack.
Pavlik fled the scene but was later apprehended at his home by deputies.
