Sonia Exelby, a suicidal woman from the UK, traveled to Florida with the stated intention of being sexually assaulted and possibly murdered, according to chilling details that have emerged. Exelby, 32, met Dwain Hall, 53, on a fetish website and recorded a video with him two days before she went missing.
In the video, Exelby appeared bruised and expressed her desire to die, feeling she was an "awful person" who had "crushed everyone." Hall allegedly told police that Exelby was supposed to bring him $4,000 to help pay off IRS debts, but he only managed to get $1,200 before her card was declined. During the recorded conversation, Exelby agreed to Hall's repeated questioning about whether she consented to being beaten and suffering, stating it was what she wanted.
However, in a Discord message sent the same day, Exelby expressed second thoughts, indicating Hall had given her a gun and suggested she shoot him, which she was afraid to do. She also mentioned Hall made her record disclaimer videos and write a letter to her family because he found it "funny." Hall initially provided inconsistent statements to police, claiming it was part of a cover story Exelby wanted him to use to lessen the burden of her death.
He also kept the location of her body secret as per her request not to be found. Exelby's body was discovered in a shallow grave in the Florida woods on October 17, 2025, and her death was ruled a homicide caused by sharp force injuries, likely from a knife.
Hall was charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping on November 17, 2025, and has pleaded not guilty. He was already in custody for credit card fraud and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
