England manager Thomas Tuchel and Scotland boss Steve Clarke both expressed dissatisfaction with the excessive length and entertainment-focused nature of the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony. The event, described as the largest World Cup draw ever, lasted two and a half hours and included performances and appearances by celebrities, as well as a FIFA Peace Prize presentation to U.
S. President Donald Trump.
Tuchel stated he did not need the extensive presentation, acknowledging it was more about entertainment than football insight, while Clarke, attending his first draw, felt it went on much longer than necessary. England was drawn into Group L with Croatia, Panama, and Ghana, whereas Scotland faces a challenging Group C alongside Brazil, Morocco, and Haiti.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
