A 47-year-old man was found dead with head trauma in the bed of a New York City Parks Department truck on Randall's Island on Friday morning. A Parks Department employee discovered the unconscious and unresponsive man, who had serious head injuries, around 7:21 a.m.
in a restricted parking lot near the park's Operations Building. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police are investigating the mysterious death, and while foul play is not currently suspected, it has not been ruled out. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
No arrests have been made.
