A woman and a boy were struck by a tram at the Didsbury Village Metrolink stop in south Manchester on Wednesday evening, prompting a significant emergency response. Paramedics treated the woman at the scene for back injuries before she was transported to the hospital.
A teenage boy sustained minor injuries. The incident caused the suspension of tram services between St Werburgh’s Road and East Didsbury, leading to disruptions in both directions and a request for passengers to evacuate the tram.
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed they were aware of the collision and were cooperating with emergency services, with ticket acceptance on local buses implemented for affected routes. Police cars, ambulances, and incident response units were visible at the scene.
