Renowned heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries in a severe car accident in Nigeria that resulted in two fatalities. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State when Joshua's vehicle collided with a stationary truck.
Joshua was a backseat passenger in the Lexus SUV, which carried three other individuals. Two of the occupants in the vehicle died at the scene.
Videos circulating on social media depicted Joshua appearing dazed inside the damaged car before being assisted out by bystanders. The Ogun State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the cause of the crash.
This accident happened just 10 days after Joshua's sixth-round knockout victory over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19, 2025. Joshua was reportedly on holiday in Nigeria, his parents' homeland, following his recent boxing win.
