Following the departure of long-time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman after the Saturday night final, Strictly Come Dancing is seeking new presenters. Former professional dancer James Jordan has suggested several potential replacements, including Zoe Ball, Bradley Walsh, and Vernon Kay. Jordan specifically proposed Vernon Kay, husband of Tess Daly, as an interesting choice to take over from her.
Jordan expressed confidence that the show will continue to be successful despite the change in hosts, drawing parallels to the show's resilience after the departure of Sir Bruce Forsyth. He believes the show's strong fanbase will ensure its continued popularity.
Beyond potential new hosts, Jordan also suggested that the show could benefit from format tweaks. He expressed a desire for a return to more authentic content, such as behind-the-scenes training footage, rather than relying on segments like pub visits or fairground rides.
Additionally, Jordan defended Strictly finalist Amber Davies against criticism regarding her dance training background, pointing out that winner Karen Carney also had childhood dance training in street dance. He emphasized that Strictly is intended to showcase the journey of non-dancers and expressed sympathy for Davies, who faced negative reactions online despite being a trained dancer.
