A 15-year-old boy from Waterbury, Connecticut, identified as Eric Aitken, was fatally shot in the chest on Saturday evening in the Bronx. Police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at 1219 Adee Avenue, a NYCHA building, around 6:30 p.m. Aitken was found with a gunshot wound and transported to NYC Health and Hospitals Jacobi in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
Separately, a 14-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm several blocks away at 2909 Laconia Avenue. This second teenager was also taken to NYC Health and Hospitals Jacobi and is reported to be in stable condition. The NYPD has not yet established a connection between the two shootings or confirmed if they originated from the same incident. As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made, and the investigation remains active.
