Parents of slain New York-native hostage Omer Neutra thankful he’s ‘finally home’ after Hamas handed over his body

The parents of Omer Neutra, an IDF captain and New York native killed by Hamas, expressed relief and gratitude as his body was returned from Gaza. After 758 days of uncertainty, Ronen and Orna Neutra announced that their son's long nightmare has ended with his return home, allowing them to begin the process of his burial in Israel. Omer Neutra, who deferred his university acceptance to serve in the IDF, was killed and taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023. His body remained in Gaza for over two years until its release, along with two other bodies, over the weekend as part of a cease-fire deal brokered by President Trump.
