Police in Swindon have arrested a 13-year-old girl on suspicion of murder after a woman in her fifties was found dead at her home. Officers were called to Baydon Close in Moredon around 7pm on Friday following reports of disorder.
Upon arrival, they discovered the woman unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The 13-year-old was taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident.
Authorities have stated that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death. A police cordon has been established at the property while investigators work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the woman's demise.
Wiltshire Police have advised that a heightened police presence will continue in the area. The victim's next of kin have been notified.
Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose urged the public not to speculate about the details of the case and encouraged anyone with concerns to approach officers.
