The incident involved Joshua's vehicle colliding with a stationary vehicle on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun state. Two other passengers in Joshua's car tragically lost their lives at the scene. The driver of Joshua's vehicle was also injured.

Police confirmed that Joshua, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, is receiving medical attention. Initial reports suggest the crash happened around 11 am. Videos circulating online appear to show Joshua at the scene, walking slowly and entering a police vehicle. A separate vehicle, a truck, was also seen damaged. Joshua has family ties in Sagamu, Nigeria, where the crash occurred approximately 30 miles north of Lagos. This incident follows Joshua's recent knockout victory over Jake Paul on December 20th, after a 15-month hiatus from boxing. His management team in the UK stated they have been unable to reach him.
