A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Aberdeen on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Sheffield. The incident occurred on London Road at 5:15 pm on Monday, and the teenager remains in critical condition in hospital. Police Scotland officers apprehended the man on Saturday, November 29.
Along with the man arrested for attempted murder, a 23-year-old woman was also arrested in Aberdeen on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals are currently in custody.
Earlier in the week, two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. They have since been released on bail. Additionally, a 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
South Yorkshire Police are treating the investigation as ongoing and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight expressed concern for the victim, a 16-year-old whose future has been impacted by the violent act. The police are actively pursuing leads and have provided multiple channels for the public to submit information anonymously or directly.
