An 11-year-old boy named Cole Frazee was chased by a black bear into a Family Dollar store in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania. The bear pursued him as he entered the store, causing him to scream and run for safety.
He and the cashier, the only other person present, quickly jumped over the counter and escaped through the front doors just as the bear did the same. Surveillance video captured the bear leaping over the counter after the boy and cashier fled.
The bear then wandered the store for about 10 minutes before leaving on its own. Frazee expressed relief after the encounter, describing it as a "crazy experience." Wildlife officials note that bears are actively searching for food at this time of year, which can lead to unexpected encounters.
