Ukraine has unveiled a new domestically produced cruise missile named the Flamingo, which President Zelensky described as a "superweapon." Developed by Ukrainian manufacturer Fire Point, the Flamingo is designed to be more powerful and cost-effective than Western equivalents like the US Tomahawk missile.
The Flamingo boasts a significant payload capacity of 1,150kg and a range of 3,000km, nearly double that of the Tomahawk. It is also highly accurate, with a stated precision of landing within 14 meters of its target. The missile's construction utilizes low-cost materials and repurposed Soviet aircraft bombs as warheads, making it an economical option for Ukraine.
The missile has already been deployed in combat, achieving successful strikes against Russian targets, including hovercraft and oil refineries.
