The judge revealed Khan had a "long-standing interest in weapons," with police recovering disturbing material from his phone, including videos of him lunging with a knife and posing with the hunting knife he later used. An axe was also found in his gym bag in December, which led to police intervention, though Khan denied it was his.
Harvey became the target of Khan's rage when he supported another boy with whom Khan had a social media dispute. A prior incident five days before the fatal stabbing involved Khan trying to intervene in an altercation and claiming one boy had a knife, which led to a school lockdown and police involvement, though no weapon was found.
