For westbound travel, drivers should exit at J5, join the A249 southbound, continue to the M20 at J7, then take the M20 westbound, exit at J4, and join the A228 northbound back to the M2 at J2. For eastbound travel, drivers should exit the M2 at J3, take the A229 southbound, exit at the Cobtree Roundabout to join the M20 eastbound, exit the M20 at J7, take the A249 northbound, and rejoin the M2 at J5. National Highways has not yet provided an estimated time for the road's reopening.
