Valve has announced three new hardware products set to launch in early 2026: a console-like device called the Steam Machine, a new virtual reality headset named Steam Frame, and an updated Steam Controller. All three will run on SteamOS.
The Steam Machine is described as a cube six inches on each side, designed to fit near a TV or desk, and is six times more powerful than the Steam Deck. It will be capable of playing the entire Steam library, with games tagged as "Steam Machine Verified" if they perform well.
The Steam Frame is a wireless VR headset designed for streaming and will include controllers. It aims to offer lightweight and comfortable VR experiences for Steam library titles, including both VR and non-VR games. A new feature called Foveated Streaming uses eye-tracking to optimize image quality by directing higher pixel detail to where the user is looking. Games will also receive a "Steam Frame Verified" tag.
The new Steam Controller has been significantly updated from its 2015 version.
