Infant botulism in 10 US states linked to formula being recalled

Thirteen cases of infant botulism in ten U.S. states have been linked to specific lots of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula, prompting a recall. The affected infants were hospitalized after consuming formula from lot numbers 206VABP/251261P2 and 206VABP/251131P2. The states where these cases occurred are Arizona, California, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, and Washington. No fatalities have been reported. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating the cause of the contamination and whether other products might be affected.
