A 39-year-old man was stabbed while attempting to prevent a thief from stealing a woman's phone near Columbus Circle. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. Saturday at West 58th Street and Ninth Avenue. The suspect, described as wearing all black, initially grabbed the 35-year-old woman's phone.
The good Samaritan intervened and tried to recover the phone but was unsuccessful. The assailant then turned on the Samaritan and stabbed him in the stomach with an unknown object before fleeing on foot.
