Two separate house fires erupted in Ashby, Leicestershire, prompting a response from emergency services. The fires were reported minutes apart, with one in Holywell Avenue at 7:05 am and another in Prestop Drive at 7:08 am.
Smoke from the blazes was visible for miles. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and Leicestershire Police mobilized personnel to both incidents, which were described as ongoing.
A road closure was put in place on Smisby Road (B6006) through the town, and the public was advised to avoid the area and anticipate delays. The causes of the fires were not immediately clear.
