While one million Jewish victims remain unidentified, Yad Vashem believes that artificial intelligence and machine learning could help recover an additional 250,000 names by analyzing millions of documents too extensive for manual research. This effort is particularly crucial as the number of Holocaust survivors dwindles, diminishing the presence of first-hand witnesses.
