Nottingham Forest make huge donation to Huntingdon train attack hero who took on knifeman

Nottingham Forest Football Club has donated £10,000 to Stephen Crean, a loyal fan who sustained seven knife wounds while bravely confronting a knifeman on a train. Crean was attacked on the 18:25 LNER service from Doncaster to King's Cross as he returned from a match, and his intervention is credited with potentially saving many lives during the incident which injured ten people. The confrontation occurred when Crean heard screams and found the assailant with a large knife. Despite being directly challenged and severely wounded in his hand, back, bottom, and head, Crean's actions enabled another passenger to secure a door, allowing others to escape. A fundraising campaign, initially set for £500, has now surpassed £46,000 due to widespread support for Crean's heroism. Nottingham Forest's significant donation was part of this initiative.
