Sixty firefighters were dispatched to a rooftop fire at a six-storey commercial building on Kensington High Street in the early hours of Monday, January 26, 2026. The blaze erupted in a commercial property, with part of the rooftop area alight. Initially, control officers received the first call at 12:57 am and mobilized crews from Kensington, Hammersmith, and Chelsea fire stations.
As the incident progressed, the number of firefighters at the scene increased to around 80, with twelve fire engines in attendance at the mixed-use building. A 32-meter turntable ladder was utilized as an observation tower, providing the Incident Commander with an aerial view of the fire.
