A 20-stone security guard named Ricky Hopkins, 41, has been fired from his job at a pharmaceutical company's distribution center after stealing nearly £9,000 worth of slimming injections. Hopkins was observed attempting to take 73 Mounjaro jabs from a bin designated for rejected pens on August 9. He was working as a contractor for SGD Group at Numan's distribution center in Cardiff, Wales.
Hopkins, who has reportedly struggled with his weight his entire life, claimed he believed the injections were going to be destroyed and that no one would miss them. He also admitted to stealing an unknown quantity of hair loss treatment. He pleaded guilty to theft and received a 12-month community order, requiring 100 hours of unpaid work, and was ordered to pay £199. Numan confirmed that all the medication Hopkins attempted to steal has been recovered. Hopkins expressed regret for his actions, calling it a "stupid mistake."
