Drunk teen jailed after bringing shame to city during riots in Sunderland

Jack Anderson, aged 19, has been jailed for two years after admitting to riot during disorder in Sunderland last August. Anderson, who had consumed alcohol and cocaine, participated in the mass disorder which saw police officers attacked with missiles, requiring some to be hospitalized and leaving them unfit for frontline duty. Police vehicles were damaged, the city's police hub was set on fire, and businesses were vandalized and looted. Anderson, who was 18 at the time of the incident, was seen with a Union Jack draped across his shoulders and threw objects at police.
