Junior doctor who joked on Twitter about gassing 'the Jews' and said videos calling the Holocaust a sham were 'pretty convincing' is let off with a warning

Dr Martin Whyte, a junior doctor formerly with the British Medical Association (BMA), faced disciplinary action for highly offensive social media posts made between 2018 and 2023. These posts included jokes about gassing Jewish people, referring to them as "Jew banker goblins," and calling Holocaust denial videos "pretty convincing." He also made disparaging remarks about the Queen and political figures. The General Medical Council (GMC) investigated the conduct of Dr Whyte. While the GMC found his posts to be "grossly offensive" and acknowledged they could be interpreted as antisemitic and damaging to the medical profession's reputation, they concluded that his actions did not pose a direct risk to public protection.
