Following the release of emails from Jeffrey Epstein that mentioned him, Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to instruct the Justice Department to investigate Epstein's connections to Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, and J.P. Morgan Chase.
Trump asserted that Democrats were using the emails, which he termed a "hoax," to distract from other issues and claimed Epstein was a "Democrat's problem." He suggested that these individuals, and others, spent significant time with Epstein and on his island. Attorney General Bondi confirmed that U.S.
Attorney Jay Clayton would lead the investigation. While Clinton has not been linked to Epstein's crimes, records indicate he visited Epstein's White House and traveled on his private jet.
Clinton's spokesperson stated the former president had no contact with Epstein for nearly 20 years and was unaware of his crimes. Despite Trump's efforts to distance himself, the released Epstein emails also contained references allegedly linking Trump to Epstein and suggesting Trump was aware of Epstein's activities.
The White House press secretary reiterated that Trump had no involvement in Epstein's wrongdoing and had previously banned Epstein from his club.
