A woman in her 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash on the M2 motorway in Kent, England, on Christmas Eve. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 4 for Rainham, on the London-bound carriageway near Medway services.
Police were alerted to a black Volkswagen T-Roc that collided with the central reservation and subsequently flipped over. Emergency services, including Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and National Highways Traffic Officers, responded to the scene.
The driver, a woman in her 20s from Faversham, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that she was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.
The identity and exact age of the deceased have not yet been released. Kent Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage, to come forward to assist with their investigation into the fatal collision.
The carriageway was temporarily closed between Junctions 5 and 4 to allow for initial inquiries.
