Nationwide, Lloyds and Barclays to give customers cash bonuses

Several major UK banks, including Nationwide, Lloyds, and Barclays, are offering cash bonuses to eligible customers who switch their accounts. These incentives are designed to attract new customers and encourage the use of their banking services. Nationwide is providing a £175 bonus to customers who switch to a new or existing FlexDirect, FlexAccount, or FlexPlus account. To qualify, customers must transfer two direct debits from their old account, complete the switch via the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) within 28 days, deposit at least £1,000, and make one debit card payment within 31 days of account opening. Previous recipients of Nationwide's online switch offer since 2021 may not be eligible. Barclays is offering a £200 bonus to eligible customers who switch to their bank and join the 'Blue Rewards' scheme, which has a £5 monthly fee. Additional benefits include an Apple TV+ subscription, cashback, and improved savings rates. However, existing Barclays current account holders as of October 7 and those who have previously received a Barclays switch bonus are excluded.
