Daniel Suarez will replace Justin Haley driving the No. 7 Chevrolet at Spire Motorsports beginning next season. Suarez, the only Mexican driver in NASCAR's top series, was replaced at Trackhouse Racing by 19-year-old Connor Zilisch after five seasons. Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson stated the move is an opportunity for both Suarez and the No. 7 team to prove they can be consistent contenders, as neither had a stellar 2024 season. Suarez had no wins and missed the playoffs, while the No. 7 car is ranked 31st in the Cup Series standings with only two top-10 finishes. Haley had previously scored Spire's only Cup win at Daytona in 2019. Dickerson expressed belief that both parties need each other for a "redemption" story, allowing Suarez to demonstrate that his performance this year was an anomaly and for the team to show the No. 7 car's performance was also an outlier. Suarez, the 2016 Xfinity Series champion, has secured both of his Cup Series wins with Trackhouse and achieved a career-best 10th in the standings in 2022. Spire Motorsports, now part of a larger racing portfolio owned by TWG Motorsports which also includes the Cadillac F1 team and IndyCar's Andretti Global, is described by Suarez as the fastest-growing team in NASCAR. Freeway Insurance will be Suarez's primary sponsor.
