Huntingdon train stab suspect could be linked to string of knife incidents in hours before rampage

Police are investigating if the man accused of a stabbing attack on a London-bound train was also involved in a series of knife incidents in the hours leading up to the rampage. The suspect, who has not been named but is 32 years old, faces 10 counts of attempted murder for the train attack that occurred shortly after it departed Peterborough station on Saturday evening. He has also been charged with one count of attempted murder for an incident at Pontoon Dock DLR station in London early Saturday morning. Detectives are examining the possibility that the suspect is connected to three other knife incidents that took place in Peterborough prior to the train attack. On Friday evening, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the city center and sustained minor injuries. Approximately fifteen minutes later, a knifeman entered a barber's shop in Fletton, Peterborough, though this was only reported to police two hours afterward. A second report of a knifeman at the same barber's shop was made the following morning, but officers could not locate the suspect upon arrival. During the train attack, dozens of passengers were forced to barricade themselves in carriages. Stephen Creen, 61, recounted being stabbed multiple times after confronting the attacker, only armed with his fists. Passengers activated emergency alarms, diverting the train to Huntingdon station where the suspect was arrested.
