The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is advising consumers to immediately stop using four specific models of OasisSpace adult portable bed rails due to a serious entrapment hazard that can lead to asphyxiation, serious injury, or death. One death has been linked to these devices, involving an 81-year-old Ohio woman in 2023. The four affected models, identified by their dimensions and model numbers (F042, F127, G132, and G286), pose a risk when users can become trapped between the bed rail and the mattress.
These bed rails were sold online by OasisSpace (doing business as Gold Kernal LLC) on platforms including OasisSpace.com, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com, as well as through third-party retailers and websites like eBay. The CPSC estimates that approximately 86,100 units were sold between July 2019 and February 2025 for prices ranging from $30 to $108.
