A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is accused of planning a terrorist attack on a synagogue in Newcastle. The court heard that the teenager, who had joined a far-right group called 'The Base', possessed a "to-do list" detailing weapons and explosives needed for the attack. Officers found white supremacist flags in his bedroom when they raided his home on February 20th of the previous year.
His journal reportedly outlined a plan to acquire crossbow bolts, body armor, and build a bomb, alongside a desire to "blow up shit, killing with knives or machetes." He allegedly expressed anti-government and anti-police sentiments, believing they were responsible for the discrimination against white people and aiming to incite a race war in the UK. The boy also researched mass killers and school shooters, including Stephan Balliet, who attacked a synagogue in Germany, and downloaded extremist material like the White Resistance Manual. He is also accused of researching homemade firearms and ammunition. The teenager denies all charges, including preparing acts of terrorism and membership of a proscribed organization.
