Fascinating study shows that chimpanzees can change their minds — proving humans aren’t the only rational creatures

A new study published in the journal Science demonstrates that chimpanzees are capable of changing their beliefs when presented with new evidence, a trait previously considered uniquely human and indicative of rational thought. This suggests that fundamental rationality is not exclusive to humans and is shared to some degree with chimpanzees. Researchers conducted experiments at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Uganda to test this ability.
