Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly struggling in their life in America, leading one of Princess Diana's former friends, royal expert Tina Brown, to suggest that Harry should consider returning to Britain. Brown believes the Sussexes are in a "sad predicament" in the US, with Harry reduced to "just some guy doing PR gigs" and Meghan making a series of poor professional decisions, making them "pariahs everywhere." Brown feels Harry made a mistake leaving royal life and that his best option is to find a way back to England and reconcile with his family, though she acknowledges this will be difficult, with Prince William likely being the key figure in any potential reconciliation.
There are also suggestions that Harry himself might be contemplating a return to the UK. This is based on an essay he wrote about being British, where he used the word "currently" to describe his residence in the United States, which communications specialist Judi James interprets as a sign that a return is possible.
Harry has expressed a desire to reunite with his family and has stated that he is unable to visit the UK with his wife and children due to security concerns and a lost legal challenge over his security provisions, which he feels impacts him daily and leaves him only able to return safely if invited by the Royal Family.
