A two-year-old girl named Isobel tragically died on Christmas Day after falling into a garden pond. She had wandered away from her family's celebrations at their home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and was found in the pond shortly after.
Despite her family's efforts to perform CPR until paramedics arrived, Isobel was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her aunt described her as a "happiest, smiliest, most adventurous and curious little girl" who "lit up the lives of everyone." The pond was a temporary feature in the garden of their recently purchased home and had a fence around it, but Isobel managed to access it.
The family is now raising funds for funeral expenses, counseling, and to support Isobel's mother, Tamara, who is 25 weeks pregnant. They also plan to create a memorial fairy garden to remember Isobel.
