This year's nominations are led by Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, who has received 12 nominations. He is followed by Barrera, who is tied with Argentinian hip-hop duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, with 10 nominations each. New categories have been introduced this year: "music for visual media," which will recognize original music for films, television shows, video games, and other visual media featuring Latin rhythms or composed by individuals of Ibero-American descent, and a "roots song" category for new, unpublished recordings that reflect the traditions and roots of various communities, particularly of Hispanic American origin.
