She later remarried bassist David MacKay and performed with her own band, the Donna Jean Godchaux Band. In 1994, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Grateful Dead. She is survived by her son, Zion "Rock" Godchaux, who is also a musician.
