Uriah Lee Urick Jr., an 18-year-old, has been found guilty of capital murder for plotting to rob and kill his girlfriend's grandmother, 61-year-old Tammy King. The conviction carries an automatic life sentence without parole in Texas. Evidence presented during a week-long trial, including text messages, showed that Urick and his girlfriend, Tara King, planned the murder and robbery for several weeks. The prosecution argued that the couple intended to steal money, methamphetamine, and firearms from Tammy King and even fabricated claims of abuse to justify their actions. Text messages revealed their detailed planning, including discussions about ammunition and their intention to kill her at a specific time.
