Two men have been arrested following a stabbing that occurred in Lady Pecketts Yard, a narrow alley off Stonebow in York city centre, shortly before 1 am on Sunday, November 16th. One of the men sustained injuries and is currently in stable condition in the hospital.
The second man has been released on police bail as the investigation continues. North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information to assist with their inquiry.
They are particularly seeking to speak with the driver and passengers of a dark Toyota Corolla taxi that picked up a fare outside Pizza Hut on Stonebow/Pavement around 12:40 am on November 16th. These individuals are being treated as witnesses.
The public is also urged to report any suspicious activity or share doorbell or dash-cam footage captured in the area at the time. The incident prompted a significant police and ambulance response, with multiple vehicles attending the scene and a cordon established.
A crime scene investigation vehicle was present at the Fossgate end of Lady Pecketts Yard, where specialist officers were seen working. Passers-by reported hearing that someone had been stabbed and observed blood on the ground.
