American private school boss and his son, 15, stung to death by hundreds of HORNETS while ziplining in Asia

Daniel Owen, a 47-year-old American private school director, and his 15-year-old son, Cooper, were fatally stung by hundreds of hornets while ziplining in Laos. The incident occurred on October 15 at an eco-adventure resort near Luang Prabang. The father and son, who were living in Vietnam with Owen's wife Jennifer, were attacked by what are believed to be Asian giant hornets during their ziplining excursion. The hornets swarmed the pair and their guide as they were descending from a tree. Both Daniel and Cooper were conscious when they reached the hospital, with no immediate signs of anaphylactic shock, but they tragically died a few hours later.
