Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sustained a left hand injury during the game against the Bengals. He was observed clutching his wrist late in the first half after taking a hit.
Head coach Mike Tomlin indicated after halftime that Rodgers was undergoing evaluation for the injury and was considered questionable to return. Mason Rudolph began warming up before the second half and took over for Rodgers on the Steelers' opening drive of the third quarter.
Tomlin expressed hope for Rodgers' return but acknowledged the need to prepare Rudolph to step in if necessary. The Steelers' quarterback depth chart lists Rodgers as the starter, followed by Rudolph and then Will Howard as an emergency third quarterback.
