Tributes as girl, 3, and grandfather die in UPS cargo plane fireball: ‘His smile was unmatched’

A three-year-old girl, Kimberly Asa, and her grandfather, Louisnes Fedon, were killed when a UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Louisville, Kentucky. They were at a scrapyard near the airport gathering metal when the MD-11 freighter lost an engine, crashed, and exploded. Louisnes Fedon, known as "Lou," was remembered by his former UPS supervisor as having a huge personality and an unmatched smile, always bringing a positive attitude to work and caring about everyone he interacted with. Fedon was a critical support system for his two teenage children, Sheldon and Shayna, driving them to school, taking them to medical appointments, and covering daily expenses. A GoFundMe campaign aims to help them purchase a reliable vehicle to maintain their independence. Another victim, Matt Sweets, died from burns across more than 95 percent of his body.
