Fan organization Football Supporters Europe (FSE) called the prices "extortionate," estimating that a fan could pay up to €6,900 ($8,111) to attend every match from the first game to the final through the participant member association (PMA) allocation. This is reportedly five times more than similar attendance costs in Qatar. FSE criticized FIFA for not adopting a standard price across all group matches, with pricing seemingly dependent on the "perceived attractiveness of the fixture."
The English Football Association's pricing information for the England Supporters Travel Club (ESTC) shows a potential cost of $7,020 for a fan to follow England through to the final. The Football Supporters' Association's England Fans' Embassy described this pricing policy as "laughable" and a "slap in the face" to dedicated supporters. England fan group Free Lions echoed these sentiments, calling the prices "shocking" and demanding protection for match-goers from such "rip-off prices."
FIFA stated in September that tickets released through its website would initially range from $60 for group stage matches to $6,730 for the final, but these prices are subject to change due to the adoption of dynamic pricing for the first time at a World Cup. Unlike previous World Cups, FIFA has four ticket categories, with the cheapest available to ESTC members termed 'Supporter Value Category 3.' FSE urged FIFA to halt ticket sales via national associations until a more equitable solution is found. The current ticket sales phase, a random selection draw, opened on December 11 and closes on January 13, 2026. For comparison, in 1994, U.S. World Cup ticket prices ranged from $25 to $475, and in Qatar 2022, they were around $70 to $1,600.
