The family of Daniel Waterman, a father-to-be who died from injuries sustained in a February car crash, is speaking out through their attorney. They are satisfied with the vehicular homicide charges filed against Leigha Mumby, 24, Waterman's girlfriend, who is accused of intentionally causing the wreck. Waterman, 22, was a passenger in the car driven by Mumby.
According to reports, Waterman spoke to investigators from his hospital bed and claimed Mumby deliberately crashed the car, stating she didn't care what happened and that he would get what he deserved. Waterman suffered severe injuries, including a broken neck, back, collarbone, dislocated hips, and a broken leg and ankle.
Mumby was initially arrested in July on charges of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, to which she pleaded not guilty.
