A man has died and two others have been hospitalized following a flat fire in Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute. Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at a three-story block of flats on Lochnell Street around 7:45 AM on Sunday. One man was pronounced deceased at the scene, and two other men were transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Surrounding streets, including Lochnell Street, Union Street, and Campbell Street, were closed as a result of the incident. Local residents were advised to remain indoors with their windows and doors closed. Detective Inspector Peter MacMillan stated that investigations into the cause of the fire are underway but indicated that it does not appear to be deliberate. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service deployed four appliances and a height vehicle to combat the fire.
