Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty married Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, at Bath Abbey. The wedding was attended by notable figures including Peaty's Strictly Come Dancing co-stars Dan Walker and Sara Davies, as well as Victoria and David Beckham and their children. Dan Walker shared glimpses of the event on Instagram, describing it as "wonderful" with "unforgettable" speeches and singing. Sara Davies also praised the food as the "best wedding food I’ve ever had" and reflected on her friendship with Adam.
However, the celebration was marred by a significant family rift, with Peaty's mother, Caroline, and most of his family excluded from the ceremony. This estrangement reportedly stems from a decision by Adam and Holly not to invite wider family members to their engagement party in September 2024. Caroline Peaty expressed deep hurt at being excluded, calling it a "heartbreak" and stating she felt "cut my heart out." She also revealed receiving a harsh text message from Peaty's aunt, Louise, expressing shame and wishing him to experience similar pain. Peaty's great-aunt Janet also voiced sympathy for Caroline and disbelief at Adam's actions. Despite the family drama, Caroline considered attending the wedding but was dissuaded by her husband.
Holly Ramsay arrived at the abbey with her father, Gordon Ramsay, concealed in a hooded cloak before revealing her lace gown. Peaty's sister Bethany was the only member of his family to be invited and served as a bridesmaid, alongside Holly's sisters Megan and Tilly. The bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Victoria Beckham. The reception was held at Kin House, a Georgian manor, and featured a menu including prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and tarte tatin. The event is expected to be featured in an upcoming Netflix documentary about the Ramsay family.
