Keith J. Kelly, a former media columnist for the New York Post, was inducted into the Deadline Club New York Journalism Hall of Fame.
Kelly spent 23 years at The Post writing his "Media Ink" column, which focused on the magazine industry. Jesse Angelo, former publisher and CEO of The Post, introduced Kelly and highlighted his influence over media companies like Condé Nast, recounting how editors would quickly return Kelly's calls.
Tina Brown, a former editor at Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, also spoke about the "dread" she felt receiving Kelly's calls, but acknowledged the necessity of his insights into industry happenings. Kelly, who left The Post in 2021 and later became editor in chief of local New York newspapers, described his time covering media as highly enjoyable and expressed enthusiasm for continuing to cover New York City under a new mayor.
Other inductees into the Hall of Fame included Bill Whitaker, Martha Teichner, Chuck Scarborough, and Rich Lamb.
